Rae Golf local rules

  • Distance marks to the centre of the green: white – 200m, yellow – 150m, red – 100m.
  • Penalty areas are defined by yellow and red stakes (Rule 17).
  • The ground under repair is defined with blue stakes and/or lines (Rule 16.1).
  • The no play zones are defined with a corresponding sign or blue stakes with white stripe.
  • White stakes defining out of bounds are deemed to be boundary objects (Rule 8.1a).
  • Immovable obstructions are built roads incl. the wooden path in the 18th hole bunker, lamps on the 18th hole green island, benches, distance markers, signboards at tee areas, ball washers, sprinklers and manhole covers, and utility boxes (Rule 16.1).
  • The opposite side of the ditch in the right-side penalty area of the 1 hole and the area beyond it, including the road, are deemed to be no play zone (Rule 17.1e).
  • Trees and plants supported by a bamboo stick or marked with a blue ribbon or spray are deemed to be in no play zone and play from the area of interference with the player stance or intended swing is prohibited. The player must take free relief (Rule 16.1f).
  • The ball is deemed to be out of bounds when it comes to rest on the general area cut to fairway height or less of the 12th hole when playing 11th hole and on the general area cut to fairway height or less of the 16th hole when playing 17th hole (Rule 18.2a).
  • Preferred lie in the general area – when a players ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and play it from relief area of one folded scorecard from the original spot of the ball that is not nearer to the hole than the original spot and that is in the general area. The ball must be replaced under Rule 14.2b(2) and 14.2e. A player can clean the ball.
  • Penalty for breach of Local Rule – General Penalty (two penalty strokes).
  • Stopping and resuming a play (Rule 5.7b).

A suspension of play for a dangerous situation will be signalled by 1 long signal.

All other suspensions will be signalled by 3 consecutive signals.

In either case, resumption of play will be signalled by 2 consecutive signals.

Note: If a play is stopped due to a dangerous situation, all practice areas will be closed immediately too.

Etiquette:

  • Replace all divots;
  • Repair pitch marks;
  • Avoid slow play, keep the pace;
  • Keep carts outside teeing areas and greens;
  • Rake sand in bunkers;
  • It is prohibited to use driving range balls for the play on the golf course.
