Registration and entry procedure for handicap rounds (General Play rounds) of a member of the Rae Golf Club
Handicap rounds (General Play, hereinafter GP rounds) can be played on courses located in Estonia during the period 01 April – 31 October. The eligibility for handicap calculation of GP rounds played on courses in other countries depends on whether they were played during the period when GP rounds are allowed in the given country or not.
GP round registration
To fulfill the pre-registration requirement for a GP round, it is sufficient to inform the marker before the start of the round that they wish to play a GP round. To avoid later misunderstandings, the marker must be informed of how many holes will be played in the GP calculation – 9 or 18.
Only a person who holds a valid license issued by the Estonian Golf Association (EGL), i.e. is a member with active status of an Estonian golf club, may be a marker. Also applies to GP rounds played abroad. EGL guidelines.
Player obligations when playing a GP round and entering results:
– Behave honestly
– Play according to the Rules of Golf
– Enter the GP round results into GolfBox and confirm before midnight
– Confirm the results of your fellow player(s) in GolfBox before midnight
Entering results into GolfBox
Rae Golf Club members can only enter/submit GP round results electronically using the GolfBox web application or app. You can find the app on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iOS. Using the app, you can only enter GP rounds played on Estonian golf courses. You can find out how to use the app in the GolfBox 2023 app user manual. GP rounds and competition rounds played abroad can only be entered in the GolfBox web application, and the player must enter the course and its lane data into GolfBox themselves. How to do this can be found in the Guide to entering GP game rounds online or Guide to entering a competition round played abroad online.
Scorecards sent to Rae Golf or the club on paper or in any other way will not be accepted or received, and Rae Golf employees will not enter or confirm GP rounds in GolfBox.
If you use the GolfBox app, it is enough for one player to enter the results of the entire flight and the other player to confirm them. If players wish to enter their own score, this is also possible, but in this case they must not enter and confirm the score of their playing partner(s) in their app, otherwise the score will be reflected twice in GolfBox. It is important to ensure that each score is entered and confirmed in GolfBox only once.
The GP round score must be entered into GolfBox on a course-by-course basis. The gross score achieved on the course must be entered, or if the course was interrupted (the score was not recorded on the course due to a ball being picked up or for some other reason), the course score must be entered as “—” or the number of strokes corresponding to the player’s Net Double Bogey[1] (11 can also be entered) score for the course.
The score of a GP round played in Estonia must be entered into GolfBox and must be confirmed by the marker before midnight on the day the GP round is played. If for some reason you forget and/or for technical reasons you are unable to do so on time, you must notify the club’s Rules and HCP Committee (hereinafter referred to as the RHCP Committee) as soon as possible at the e-mail address rhcp@raegolf.ee.
The result of a GP round played abroad must be entered into GolfBox and confirmed by the scorer as soon as possible and this must take place before the next GP round is played and entered into GolfBox.
The results of GP rounds must be entered and confirmed in the chronological order in which they were played.
All GP rounds that have not been entered into GolfBox on time and/or confirmed by the marker there, and the RHCP committee of the club has not been notified of the delay in entering and/or confirming the results on the day of the game, will be deleted from GolfBox by a member of the RHCP committee.
After entering the results, the player undertakes to
– Check that the entered result has not been reflected twice in GolfBox
– Check that the entered and confirmed game result is correct
– In the event of a double or incorrectly entered GP round result, notify the RHCP committee of the club as soon as possible by e-mail rhcp@raegolf.ee.
GP round results that are entered twice or incorrectly will be deleted by the RHCP committee without notification to the player.
[1] Net Double Bogey is the first number of strokes for which a player no longer receives points in point play on a given course. For example, a player with a playing HCP of 36 will receive 2 points for a Double Bogey on each course, PAR + 3 will give him one point, and PAR + 4 will give him zero points.
